Directions

By Land…

General Directions: I-95 to Exit 8B (City Island, Orchard Beach.) Follow for 3/4 mile over Pelham Bridge and then immediately bear right onto City Island Road (at “City Island” sign). Proceed another 3/4 mile to traffic circle. Go half-way around the circle and bear right to continue on City Island Road (“City Island” sign). Proceed 1/4 mile, cross over the green City Island Bridge and bear right onto City Island Avenue. Continue on City Island Avenue for one mile. Turn right at Pilot Street (Landmark: Lido Parking Sign) City Island Yacht Club is at the end of Pilot Street on the right. From Northern New York, Westchester, and Connecticut: I-95 South, then proceed with General Directions above. From Manhattan: Robert F. Kennedy (Triborough) Bridge to the Bruckner Expressway (Bronx.) Follow on the Bruckner until it merges with I-95 North, then proceed with General Directions above. From New Jersey: George Washington Bridge to I-95 North (Cross Bronx Expressway), then proceed with General Directions above. From Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island: Take the Throgs Neck (or Whitestone) Bridge and follow signs for I-95 North, then proceed with General Directions above. Then take the Bx29 bus to Pilot Street. Walk one block west on Pilot street to the Club, located on right side at end of street. By Sea…

City Island and the CIYC are quite easy to approach by boat. In addition to the Club’s amenities, many great seafood restaurants, antique shops, museum, grocery stores, laundromats, delis and a pharmacy are all just a few blocks away. Mooring field coordinates: N 40° 50.311″ – – W 073° 47.550″ CityIsland_ChartMap Relevant Chart: http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/12366.shtml From the West: Pass under the Throgs Neck Bridge, then leave R”48″ (Fl R 4s BELL) to Port – You’ll see City Island off to Port. Once you clear R”48″ head almost due North for 2 nautical miles, being sure to keep R”2″ (Fl R 4s) and N”4″ (Big Tom) to Starboard. Hail “City Island Yacht Club Launch” on VHF 72 on your approach to our mooring field and our Launch staff will guide you to a guest mooring. From the East: From Execution Light, continue almost due West (keeping Hart Island to Starboard) for a little over 3 nautical miles. Turn North to round R”2″ (Fl R 4s) and pass N”4″, keeping both to Starboard. Hail “City Island Yacht Club Launch” on VHF 72 on your approach to our mooring field and our Launch staff will guide you to a guest mooring.
