City Island Yacht Club (CIYC) sits at the confluence of the East River/New York Harbor and Long Island Sound providing strategic access to a variety of cruising destinations and experiences. The CIYC Cruising Committee is pleased to offer several cruises and seminars during the 2023 season. Cruises are generally held over a weekend and will include destinations such as Oyster Bay, Northport, and Sheepshead Bay. A one-week cruise to the North Fork of Long Island is also planned this year. This cruise will include a lay-day for wine-tasting at several North Fork wineries.

2023 Cruising Schedule & Seminars
March 4, 9am – 1pm: Electronic Navigation Course
May 3, 7pm – 9pm Seminar: Basic Bareboat Cruising and Cruising Croatia
The CIYC Cruising Committee is excited to present a seminar on bareboat cruising. Last fall, five club members (Ed Woolsey, Lynn Trepicchio, Madeline Gurdak, and George and Silvia Keeber) sailed the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Croatia on a Beneteau 49.4. They have graciously agreed to share their experiences with club members in a brief presentation including organization, logistics, and of course lots of pictures.
Ed will also provide an introduction to “Bareboat Cruising 101.” The seminar will be at the CIYC clubhouse. Anyone interested in experiencing the freedom and enjoyment that a bareboat cruise can offer won’t want to miss this one-night only seminar.
