There was plenty of wind on Eastchester Bay as the cruising season at the City Island Yacht Club started out strong with a fascinating lecture on April 27th about the Norwalk Islands, a group of 17 islands just off the coast of Norwalk, Connecticut. More than 50 people gathered live and via Instagram to hear Captain Rick Del Fosse, the business manager of the Norwalk Cove marina and a certified safe boating instructor, discuss “The Norwalk Islands – History, Secrets, Stories and Navigation.” Capt Rick told us about the history of native Americans in Norwalk as well as the importance of the oystering industry. He also related stories about the colorful visitors and inhabitants of the islands.
