On August 28 at Noon, the Harlem Yacht Club is leading a one-day cruise down the East River to Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and the Lower Bay. This will be a great ride for young and old. Watch the lights come up in downtown and take the tide North back to City Island. We should be returning to HYC by 7:30 PM.  All members of CIYC are welcome! 

 

This will be a flotilla style adventure. While you can’t sail down the East River, we will sail once we pass the Battery. We will pass through Hell Gate while it’s slack or a favorable current.  We will wait for the tide to turn and then travel North. Make sure your engine, radio and nav lights are in working order. Also, if you are bringing guests, make sure you have the proper PFD’s aboard. Bring lunch, liquids, and a camera.
