CIYC members hail from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Westchester County, Long Island and New Jersey. They are both expert and casual racers, long-distance, weekend cruisers and day sailors who enjoy both a breezy afternoon on the boat and socializing afterwards in our lively waterfront restaurant and pub, as they admire the dramatic sunset backdrop.

Sayers Series 2025
We had an excellent turnout, 20 boats participated. The Morning Race circumnavigating Hart Island with 4 divisions. Mother Nature had other plans so the afternoon around the buoys was cancelled. Winners will receive their trophies at the Award Ceremony event.

TGIF SUNSET JAM RACE SERIES 2025
The 2025 TGIF Sunset Jam. We had a strong turnout from club members looking to enjoy a relaxed and social Friday night sail. The weather has been kind, with fair winds and beautiful sunsets setting the stage for enjoyable evenings on the water. The final results are in. For the final race all participants enjoyed a prize and the over all winners 1st Place Galatea - Dinner for 2 @ City Pizza- courtesy of our steward Rene 2nd Place Material Girl - A lovely bottle of wine 3rd Place - Paikea - A bottle of Prosecco There will be official TGIF trophies for the overall winners at the awards ceremony. ASA 103 and 104 Certification in Guadeloupe : An Unforgettable Sailing Adventure
In February 2025, CIYC Active member Josh Jorgensen and Club Boat member Philippe Sandmeier joined our house instructor Eduardo Sanches for a week of spirited sailing in Guadeloupe. With steady trade winds and stunning island scenery as their backdrop, Josh and Philippe completed a breezy and rewarding week of hands-on training—earning their ASA 103 and ASA 104 certifications. This memorable voyage not only advanced their sailing skills but also showcased the adventure and camaraderie at the heart of CIYC’s sailing community.
