On Saturday, May 6 the City Island Garden Club and several CIYC volunteers spent a few hours in the sunshine planting perennials around the front entrance of the Club. The beautification efforts, sponsored by the Garden Club, have yielded a transformation of the entrance. Have you seen it yet?
Many thanks to the following Garden Club volunteers: Susan Strazzera, Kathy Gibbons, Boo Dennis, Gail Hitt, Carmella Bellocchio, Linda Kyriakos, Elain Waltz, Ethel Lott, and Judy Judson. They were joined by CIYC members Rob Engle and Merima Nokic. Clean up the week before was done by Joe Lizarrazo and Patrick Smith. In addition Joe’s mother, Maureen Lizarrazo, donated and planted forsythia around the parking lot. Judy Judson from the Garden Club commented, “It looks great and the perennials will fill-in and come back next year. The Garden Club is planning to work on other areas of the Yacht Club property in the future.” The pictures are the proof! Thanks to all for a great plan and a great planting!
